People occasionally ask me why I don't believe in a deity. I either answer that I'd rather not be the butt of some omnipresent entity's joke, or that and I have more faith in human beings. Both are true

This guy understands me

I dislike his anger towards the church, but I think this part of Bertrand Russels' 'Why I am not a Christian' paper suits my philosophy to a tee.

Science can teach us, and I think our own hearts can teach us, no longer to look around for imaginary supports, no longer to invent allies in the sky, but rather to look to our own efforts here below to make this world a better place to live in...
